We are proud to announce that AITA has been awarded First Runner-Up in Stream 2 "Development of Tailored AI Agents" at the 2nd International Competition on AI in Education 2026. The award was presented at the Final Pitch Day and Award Presentation Ceremony on 15 July 2026.
AITA is your personal AI tutor — available 24/7. Developed collaboratively by researchers from Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), AITA transforms your PDF course materials (lecture slides, textbooks, and notes) into a smart, always-available study partner. It overcomes the limitations of general-purpose AI by delivering true course context, curriculum-aligned answers, and personalised support that understands your learning needs.
With AITA you get
- Instant, context-aware explanations and intelligent Q&A simply by highlighting text or uploading screenshots
- One-click summaries, knowledge points, and mind maps tailored to different learning styles
- Smart notes, auto-generated quizzes, adaptive practice, and progress tracking
- Easy course sharing and collaboration tools
Powered by a Learning Agent and Course-Oriented Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), every response stays firmly grounded in your actual teaching materials.
AITA has already supported over 1,000 users across more than 15 courses in Computer Science, Communication, Humanities, and Systems Engineering at HKBU and CUHK, earning 100% positive feedback. Students love how it helps them review knowledge effectively, tackle difficult content, and take notes seamlessly.
Supported by the UGC Innovative Technology-in-Education (FITE) Fund (2025–2028), we are expanding AITA from pilot courses toward wider campus and multi-university deployment so even more students can study smarter.
